Afraid To Try

He thinks life is unfair
That goals are not worth the dare
That since destiny is unclear
He would not try so as not to wear

He’s always afraid to wake up
Break the shell and climb to the top
Because he doesn’t want to flop
He doesn't run not to even hop

He’s scared of what people will say
When he does things his way
So when chances come to take the day
He gives excuses and hides away

He knows that greatness is not a day’s job
And it’s important to be nobody’s dub
Time is flying yet he continues to snub
Opportunities to grow, now at old age he’s still a cub

So he cries: O life, tell me what to do!
On the last day I don’t want to get a boo
Then suddenly he hears a still small voice
Telling him with such an awesome poise

'Don’t be afraid to try
It’s the way to learn and fly
Mistakes have wonderful messages
From failures success finally comes

Make every dis-appointment this-appointment
If you want to attain fulfillment'
But unfulfilled, unheard, he left the world
Don't be afraid to try was his last word.
